Measure the fever to a baby, an elderly man or a dependent person can be a simple task with Oblumi tapp, an infrared thermometer that works together with a mobile application to provide more benefits to a normal temperature gauge.
This small device is connected to the input of the smartphone headset and allows to take the temperature accurately by placing it in the front or in the hearing for about three seconds. Data is synchronized in the cloud and you can access them from within the application, which can be managed multitude of profiles of patients at the same time. Not only that, because Oblumi tapp also calculates the correct dosage of antipyretic which must be supplied depending on age and weight of the child or the adult. The creators of Oblumi tapp have gone one step further in terms of the functions of this lightweight device, and it can also check the temperature of the liquid: water bath, bottle, etc.
The 'smartphone' is also a thermometer
This thermometer is a product that went on sale in December of 2015 and has been developed by the Seville-based startup Oblumi. The team, composed of eight people, has been working for several years in the testing of the product, looking for funding and, more recently, preparing its launch. The wearable won first prize StartUp Weekend in Seville in 2013 and the biotechnology and health of the Everis Foundation from 2014. He was also finalist in the South Summit Spain Startup of that same year, among other awards.
Ana Molina, co-founder and CEO of the company, says that Oblumi tapp "conforms to the families of today, who have adopted the wearables and other connected devices, and is primarily a technology that helps to give peace of mind to parents". As well, parents, caregivers, daycare staff and physicians will find useful this new thermometer.
The device is powered by a battery with a duration of about 6,000 measurements and for its maintenance it is only necessary to wipe the sensor. The sale of this infrared thermometer is made on the company's web site and through distributors for 39.95 euros. Soon you will reach nursery stores and pharmacies and is also on sale in France. In addition marketing in five other countries is negotiated.
